Hi! I'm Sarah, and I'm so excited that you've decided to check out a bit of what goes on at the Hauser Haus! My husband, Colson, and I live west of Chicago with our two munchkin twins.
In my previous life, I was in the non-profit world. I worked for several years for By The Hand Club For Kids, a Chicago-based organization serving kids in under-resourced communities and later was on staff with Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit that provides food for malnourished children around the world.
I started blogging a few years ago over at Offbeat + Inspired and eventually branched off to start The Homemade Haus. I'm currently a stay-at-home mom and do my best to cook, eat, write and photograph during nap times and in between diaper changes. I also contribute recipes regularly to Coffee + Crumbs, a collaborative blog about motherhood.
I'm an omnivore through and through (with occasional paleo tendencies), so you'll find just about anything from bourbon cocktails to balsamic chicken. You'll also occasionally find DIY tutorials, travel and excursion stories, and ramblings about family. To read more about why I do what I do, check out this essay I wrote over at The Gospel Coalition.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy hanging out at The Homemade Haus!
